Delhi - Hong Kong - Home

Saturday 23 December 2006

There was a delay of 6 hours at Jodhpur Airport because of fog in Delhi. We were presented with a very nice free Indian lunch by the airline to make up for the long wait. We eventually pitched up at the Rani Castle at 9.30pm and collapsed.

Sunday 24 December 2006

A great day touring Delhi, concentrating on very modern Indian history, taking in the Raj Ghat, cremation site of Mahatma, Indira and Rajiv Ghandi. Then a tour of the Indira Ghandi museum - fascinating. As a sop to pre-Mugal India we then hit Jodi gardens before having a relaxing day at the Hotel.

Monday 25 December 2006

Went to a Christian Church but there were so many people there that we could not get in to the service. We returned to our hotel and enjoyed samoosas for Christmas dinner. A lazy day spent with a walk to our park and then watching "fillims".

Tuesday 26 December 2006

Arose at 3.45am to catch our lift to Indira Ghandi International Airport and took off, almost on time, at 8.10am. Fog had again moved in. We had a 9 hour wait in transit in Hong Kong airport - absolutely huge with a multiplicity of shops, bars, lounges and restaurants. Time passed remarkably quickly. Took off just after midnight for an eight hour flight to Brisbane.

Wednesday 27 December 2006

Picked up by Tertia in Brisbane and after tea at her place drove back to a "much greener than we left it" Toowoomba.
