Wednesday 13 December 2006

We were met at 3am and taken to hotel Castle Rani where we slept well. The rest of the day was spent at the hotel in recovery mode watch cricket on TV and reading.

We were picked up and taken all over Delhi. We saw the Red Fort, the Sikh Miniature Golden Mosque and the place where Mahatma Ghandi was assassinated. This was followed by a rickshaw ride through the streets of Delhi. We also visited the spice markets where monkeys lay on the rooftops, saw the Lotus Building made of white marble and from one angle looks like a lotus flower and from another angle looks like the Sydney Opera House. Finally, we visited the Cashmere Market and bought a beautiful cashmere shawl for my Christmas present from Sandy. It is beautiful, expensive, but something to treasure.

Tonight the driver will take us to a dinner in Delhi where we will be given a voucher to have a lovely meal. All in all a very enjoyable day. The traffic in Delhi is absolutely unbelievable - 15 million people in this one city!

A day of recovery at the Rani Castle Hotel. Sandy went for an early walk and found a park. We then found an Internet Cafe for 25R an hour and did some work. Then we walked to the park. Home for a great evening in our room.
